EDUCATIONAL
SUPPORT
COUNSELLING
The aims are:
To provide
professional guidance , mentoring and social support to students
during their period of study in a way that allows for continuity
and consistency as a complement to that offered by schools of architecture
and by practice.
To encourage a simplified route of entry into the Company at the
completion of RIBA Part III.
Students must
be citizens of the European Community and be following a course
in architecture recognized by the RIBA.
The period of
the "Indenture" between the Counsellor (a Liveryman) and
the student is for a minimum of 4 years (for those with Part I)
and for 5, 6 or 7 years for those in 3rd, 2nd or 1st years respectively.
The student
pays a one-off "fine" of £25.00 on admission.
The Counsellor
supports the student's endeavours during training and, when the
period of indenture is complete, informs the Court on the suitability
of the student to become a Freeman of the Company.
